- Temperament:
- The English Cocker Spaniel temperament is typically happy, trusting, and intelligent. The ideal cocker is outgoing and very willing to please.

- The English Cocker Spaniel is an average shedder with a long coat. Regular and frequent grooming is essential to keeping the coat from matting or tangling. Daily brushing is. The ears need to be regularly cleaned of excessive wax, and baths or dry shampoos should be given only when needed.
