- Temperament:
- The English Foxhound was originally a pack hound, therefore, it gets along well with other dogs and enjoys human companionship. It gets along with horses, children, and other pets, as it is a gentle, social, and tolerant breed.
- Grooming:
- The short, dense coat of this breed is easy to maintain. Weekly brushing or wipe down with a dry towel or damp washcloth is all that is necessary.
- Training:
- The English Foxhound will enjoy training if you make it fun and will loathe it if you don't. He is generally inclined to have a strong desire to please but an even stronger desire to follow a trail, which can create a lot of challenging distractions in almost all training venues.
- Exercise:
- The English Foxhound is a high energy dog that needs extensive daily running to be happy. Be careful if letting them off leash as they may take off after any interesting scent.
