Field Spaniel

- Weight:
- 35-50 pounds (16-22.5 kg.)
- Height:
- average 18 inches (46 cm.)
- Color:
- solid liver and black
- Temperament:
- The Field Spaniel is considered to have the best temperament out of all of the Spaniels. They are mild mannered, sweet, and affectionate. They are far more independent than other Spaniel breeds. They are very docile and a great dog for households with children of all ages. They can be a timid breed, so it is important to socialize them while they are young. They can be stubborn at times, which might make obedience training slightly difficult.
- Grooming:
- Field Spaniels require a moderate amount of grooming. It is best if they are brushed or combed once a week. Their ears should be cleaned very frequently to help ward off infections. Their coat may need occasional trimming.
- Training:
- Like many spaniels, Fields are very bright and active dogs and if not trained may become bored and get into mischief. However, the same independent spirit that makes the Field a good hunting dog can make obedience training an interesting challenge. If trained with positive methods at the correct age, a Field can be a happy, high-scoring worker.
- Exercise:
- Field Spaniels require a good deal of exercise. They are best suited for households with large yards as they must have plenty of room the run around. This breed does not enjoy hot weather so be careful not to over run them during summer months.

- around 10 - 12 years

- average 6 - 7 puppies
