Fila Brasileiro

- Weight:
- 90-110 lb (41-50 kg.)
- Height:
- 25.5-29.5 inches (65-75 cm.)
- Color:
- Solid yellow, reddish tans, and brindled
- Temperament:
- Their faithfulness to family and friends is legendary. It should be noted that this is not a breed for everyone. The Fila needs a confident, experienced owner who can properly curb the breed's natural aggression towards strangers. Because of its aggression, it is not well suited to busy households which have many guests. Filas love and bond strongly with their immediate families. They live to protect their loved ones, including children and other pets. They are known to play very well with children and take a great deal of "abuse" from them, as long as they are family.
- Grooming:
- The short, dense coat of this breed is easy to maintain. Weekly brushing is all that is necessary.
- Training:
- They require early socialization and obedience training and a dominant owner. The Fila Brasileiro is not a breed for everyone.

- Life Expectancy:
- around 8 - 10 years
