- Weight:
- 49-68 pounds
- Height:
- Dogs 25.6 - 27.6 inches (65 - 70 cm); Bitches 24.4 - 26.4 inches (62 - 67 cm)

- All colors and combinations known in sight hounds are admitted, except blue, blue-white, brown, wolf-grey, black and tan; tricolor.
- Temperament:
- This breed is affectionate and docile. They are highly unlikely to ever bite or be snippy with people. They are usually well behaved around children and also with other dogs. They are somewhat reserved but should not be overly shy. They are intelligent and faithful. They are an excellent coursing dog, and are still employed for such purposes in Hungary.
- Grooming:
- The short, dense coat of this breed is easy to maintain. Weekly brushing or wipe down with a dry towel or damp wash cloth is all that is necessary.
- Training:
- Easily trained and easily harmed, the Hungarian Greyhound is intelligent and sensitive. Harsh techniques or even techniques that are unfair and confusing will destroy the happy working attitude. Be willing to spend time assuring that your dog understands your preferences. Training should be based on positive reinforcement--which means the dog is rewarded for correct actions.

- Hungarian Greyhounds love open spaces and must be allowed to run free in a safe area as well as having long daily walks.
- Life Expectancy:
- around 10-12 years
- Litter Size:
- average 8 puppies
- Country of origin:
- Hungary
