Temperament:
Samoyeds' friendly disposition makes them poor guard dogs, but excellent companions, especially for small children or even other dogs, and they remain playful into old age. Samoyeds are also known to be stubborn at times and difficult to train, due to unwillingness rather than lack of intelligence; they must be persuaded to obey commands. With their sled dog heritage, and an untrained Samoyed has no problem pulling its owner on a leash rather than walking alongside.
Grooming:
It needs to be done on a daily basis. A daily brush will keep them looking clean, with a more thorough grooming once a week. If the coat becomes wet or muddy leave it to dry, it is then easier to comb the dirt from the coat. Samoyeds are typically very good about grooming themselves, and upkeep as far as bathing is minimal. They have virtually no smell or "doggy odor.
Training:
They are a highly intelligent breed, which is sometimes confused with disobedience or stubbornness when it comes to obedience or other types of training. The best way to train the happy and fun loving Samoyed is with a lot of patience, praise and consistency much like you would do with your human children.
Exercise:
They need a lot of exercise and interaction to be happy. The exercise can come in the form of mushing, which is of course best, or can easily be in the form of draft work, frequent walks, hikes, and playing. The dog makes a wonderful hiking companion.
Life Expectancy:
around 12-15 years

average 4-6 puppies

Russia
